Product 01

Vakt Monitor — continuous environmental sensing.

Vakt Monitor is the foundation of the platform. It collects environmental readings from sensors deployed across your sites, structures them in a hierarchy that mirrors your operations, and surfaces conditions of interest in real time.

What it does:

Continuous data capture. Readings flow into the platform at sub-minute granularity from every sensor in your deployment. No polling gaps, no hourly snapshots.

Site, zone, and location hierarchy. Organize sensors the way your facility is organized — by building, floor, gallery, vault, cold room, or any custom grouping. Roll up to portfolio level or drill down to a single sensor in two clicks.

Configurable alert thresholds. Set warning and critical thresholds per zone. A pharmaceutical cold room and a paper archive are not the same environment, and they are not configured the same way.

Multi-channel notifications. Alerts route via email, SMS, and webhooks to the people and systems that need to know. Different alert classes can route to different teams.

Complete audit trail. Every reading from every sensor is retained indefinitely. Your environmental history is not summarized, sampled, or aggregated away.

Role-based access. Admins, operators, and viewers each see exactly what they need. The board chair and the maintenance technician do not get the same dashboard, and they should not.

Vakt Comply — automated compliance evaluation.

Most monitoring platforms collect data and call that compliance. Vakt Comply evaluates your environmental data against the standards your institution is actually held to, scores compliance continuously, and produces the documentation your audits, loan agreements, and insurance reviews require.

What it does:

Standards-aligned evaluation. Vakt Comply ships with evaluators for ASHRAE Chapter 24 climate classes (AA through D), CCI environmental guidelines, and other applicable frameworks. New standards are added as customer requirements emerge.

Time-in-range scoring. Compliance is calculated as the percentage of monitored time that conditions remained within the bounds specified by the applicable standard, broken out by climate dimension (temperature, RH, fluctuation, seasonal change).

Continuous, not periodic. Compliance is recalculated automatically as new readings arrive. There is no monthly reporting cycle that obscures a 36-hour excursion.

Exception tracking. Out-of-range periods are surfaced as compliance excursions with full context — when they started, when they ended, which sensors observed them, and which standard was breached.

Exportable documentation. Compliance scorecards, exception reports, and standard-by-standard summaries export to PDF and CSV for audits, loan agreements, and insurance documentation.

Designed for the standards your institution actually uses. Vakt Comply is not a generic "compliance reporting" tool. It is built around the specific frameworks Canadian heritage, scientific, and regulated institutions are evaluated against.

The hardware behind the platform.

Vakt is a software platform. The sensors that collect environmental data sit underneath it.

For most deployments, Vakt provisions wireless sensors from Disruptive Technologies — a Norwegian sensor manufacturer producing what are widely regarded as the smallest and longest-lived wireless environmental sensors on the market. Vakt is a registered Disruptive Technologies partner.

The Vakt platform is designed to be hardware-flexible. Additional sensor classes and integration options are in active development and will be made available as new modules of the platform are released.

Vakt is built to fit into the operational environments institutions already run, not to replace them.

REST API. Query current and historical sensor data, manage devices, and configure alerts programmatically.

Webhooks. Real-time event delivery for alerts, threshold breaches, and device status changes, with automatic retry on failure.

Data export. CSV and JSON exports with date-range filtering for compliance documentation, archival, and analytics.

—

Building management systems. Vakt environmental data can feed into existing BMS and facility management platforms for unified facility oversight.

Standards-based authentication. API access uses per-organization keys with role-based access control matching the dashboard. All communication is HTTPS-only.

From kickoff to live monitoring.

Site assessment.

We work with your team to map sites, zones, and critical environmental areas. Sensor placement, threshold strategy, and standards alignment are decided based on your facility, your collections or inventory, and the standards you operate under.

Deployment.

Sensors are installed across your facility. With wireless, battery-powered hardware, most deployments are completed in days, not weeks. No wiring, no construction, no disruption to operations.

Monitoring and tuning.

Vakt enters a 60-day commissioning period during which thresholds and alert configurations are tuned to your operational reality. After commissioning, the platform transitions to ongoing service with full SLA support.
